The Salaamedia Observatory was established as a vital monitoring system to rigorously document and evaluate violations resulting from the ongoing war. We are not just collecting data; we are building an evidence-based case for accountability.
Our goal is to provide accurate statistics and comprehensive reports that empower those fighting for justice. This data strengthens the work of advocacy groups, investigative journalists, and human rights researchers, helping to expose the painful truths the people of Sudan are experiencing.
Since April 15, 2023 our teams have focused on documenting and tracking the most critical violations across 8 key pillars:
Documenting and tracking airstrikes on civilian areas.
Monitoring drone strikes targeting populated areas.
Documenting unaccounted for civilians and their whereabouts.
Documenting attacks on aid workers who are protected under international law.
Monitoring attacks targeting relief convoys, ensuring adherence to international humanitarian law.
Documenting cases of unlawful arrest and detention.
Tracking enforced disappearances and missing persons.
Monitoring and documenting trials conducted during the conflict (Strange Faces Law).

We transform complex data and statistics into accessible visual formats, including infographics and interactive maps, for maximum impact.
Reports are distributed across all major media channels (Facebook, X, website, etc.) and directly to a focused list of policymakers, decision-makers, and organizations globally to drive action.
